Since 2014, they started their export activity and now their products are over 40 countries which allows them to hold a strategic position in the pet food industry. In 2020, Psittacus established in Miami to directly serve the US market.
Psittacus Catalonia’s legal advisers in this transaction were Ribas Àlvarez.
On the other side, Versele-Laga group, based in Belgium, is marketed in more than 85 countries, owns 7 plants in Europe, 2 in America and 1 in Asia. Their focus is based on the care of pets. The group is specialized in pet nutrition, care products and other activities related such as training. Now led by the third generation, the Versele family offers care products to a wide variety of pets such as pigeons, birds, dogs, cats, horses or farm animals with more than 2.000 products.
Both companies share similar origins, they both remain a local family company which are true to their values. Their passion and respect for animals have led them to keep innovating in the field and to be highly aligned on their mission to take care of pets through their expertise in manufacturing and providing high-quality, naturally nourishing pet food.
In order to accelerate the implementation of their strategy and to achieve sustainable profitable growth, Psittacus has been acquired by the group with the objective to increase their productivity and efficiency while delivering high-quality products to the pets worldwide.
At Tegan Corporate we are very pleased to have been part of this transaction and to have been able to help the founders of Psittacus.
